Gerard "Gero" Roccapriore

Wood Carver

Gerard was born and raised in Meriden, CT where he lived all of his life. He used to say... "Woodcarving is a lost art... There's not many of us left doing this craft. As long as I can still hold a knife and a steady brush... I'll keep at it". Gero had been woodcarving for nearly 50 years. His hand carved and hand painted figures have been in shops and galleries up and down the New England coastline. Currently exhibiting, at Gallery 53 in Meriden, CT and at Oils By The Sea Gallery in Provincetown, MA.

Says gallery owner Shirl Roccapriore... "and he's my dad!" !!!!

On April 22, 2019, we lost dad. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, warm demeanor and jovial personality. He loved talking to people as he carved and would often ask "Do you recognize anybody?" in regard to his display of Old Salt carvings.
