Born and raised in Montvale, NJ Jim Broussard followed in the footsteps of his father Edmund Broussard who was an illustrator and painter. Jim moved to Boston and studied art at Boston University and Mass College of Art. Provincetown became his permanent residence nearly 30 years ago although he visited and spent summers here growing up.
You will often see Jim at his easel painting en plain air every season of the year. He is most inspired by finding places that are near extinction and historical. Homes and buildings that are going to be torn down, reconstructed or refaced. Alleyways, beach scenes, ponds, trails, artist dune shacks, streets, dunes... everything Provincetown is what Jim loves to paint.
Many of Jim's clients will say "Not only is he the nicest guy, but he is an incredible painter". Jim has notable collectors world wide.
He is represented exclusively at Oils by the Sea Gallery.
